I have been addicted to narcotics for the last ten years, everything including Hydrocodone oxys, Tylox , Morphine, and most recently, morphine patches, I was also addicted to Zanax. If I ran out, I would buy anywhere I could. Three years ago I was on Crack Cocaine. I went to rehab and got clean off of everything. When I came out a few months later my doctor put me on Morphine then patches again.

I lost all respect from my husband, my kids, and my family. I wasn't myself. I almost lost my husband because of drugs. They make you somebody that is unreal; make you do things that you would not normally do. I know all about drugs and it is something I am not proud of at all.

I am proud though that I learned about Dr. Peter Coleman and the implant he developed. It has saved me completely.  I love the people that have helped me with my recovery. I want to extend my gratitude to Dr. Coleman, Michelle Walters, and PA Angela Mitchell at the Kentucky Center.  I love all you guys.  Thank you so much. I am on the road to recovery and I am so proud.  I swear this implant is the best thing I have ever seen in my life. Thanks to all involved in my recovery.

Words cannot ever describe the demon that u have gotten off of my back...
Truly if more doctors and laymen would realize that this is a medical condition the sooner recovery would be realized...!!!! In the addicts life and everyone sourrounding them!

I am interested in the Naltrexone implant.  I am an extremely proud
and independent man which makes this cry  for help hard to say the least but
with the support of my family, I am willing to do whatever it takes!!  I
have spoken to one of your representatives, Michelle, who seemed extremely
compassionate and interested to do anything she can to help m e...so I am
asking for help while I have the nerve to follow through.  I want to thank
you for all you are doing and there are so many people out there that truly
wants and need your help.  I pray that I will see you guys soon!

I want to thank you for getting my son into treatment so fast and
able to return to work the following Monday.  Thank you for Cherryl and all
of her help.  If you ever need a patient to talk to someone that has gone
through your program, we would be happy to help them all!  Thank you for
saving lives!!

Since I was 15 years old, I was addicted to something.  As I grew older, my drug of choice became opiates in any form!  My father was an addict as were my two brothers.  This is a medical situation and not mental as many people are persuaded to believe.

My son also became an addict at 15 years old.  I was told about the Neltrexone implant and at that point had nothing to lose seeing my son slowly dying of this disease.  I drove with my son to the Coleman facility in January 2005 and went through the treatment.  I was so sick for a week that I felt like I was going to die but started feeling better soon after.  I have been clean for two years before, but knew that I was going to relapse or at least still had the desire to use on any given day, which is the reason relapse is so real without this drug [Neltrexone]. It completely totally stops the craving and there is no DESIRE to use opiate drugs anymore at all.  It’s gone, the DESIRE.

Also, my son is now clean.  I am back at my jewelry store and more successful than I ever could have dreamed of.  My son joined the army and is in Iraq but thanks to Neltrexone and Dr. Coleman, I am ALIVE.  Today, I see everything as just a privilege.  This medicine works and there are no side effects.  I have been clean for nearly two years and will never have the desire to use drugs again and cannot even fathom why I did it in the first place.  It is like I never did the drugs at all.  My name is Sidney Pecora and I am the proudest person in the world for getting my life back, and the life of my child, and everyone around me.

Thank you Doc Coleman I am forever your faithful and obedient patient.

I was a patient there a little over one year ago.  I just wanted to
thank you so much and let you know that I am now over one year opiate free.
I was severely addicted to Oxcycontin and with your help I now have m life
back and my wife and I are expecting a son in 5 weeks!  Your clinic has been
recommended by me to many people as I found it ot be a great place and
without you guys, who knows where I would be.

Dr, Coleman, I feel compelled to write to you and express my feelings of profound gratitude to you and your staff.  I recently had occasion to undergo your 3 day rapid detox program  I been in recovery for 18 of the past 20 years.  However, I did relapse at the 15 year point while dealing with divorce, custody, depression, and a terminal prognosis.

After 2 years of revolving doors, rehabs, & detox centers I ultimately found the will to live throughmy two young daughters and got sober and the began two years of various "chemo cocktails" which came along with all the commensurate pain management treatments; to list a few Percocet, Oxycontin, Demerol, Codeine, Xanax, and last but not least Fentanyl @ 100mg daily for over a year.  Amazingly enough I was cleared of my disease and sent away to expect a speedy recovery.  I floundered for months in a fog attempting to recover from my cure!

I finally called a find a doctor and loyal friend from my 1st treatment back in 1986, Dr. Sherman Master, who suggested I might want to give you a call also my PCP doctor provided me with your literature along with a positive recommendation.

I was truly desparate to get by life back and took your 3day treatment. Words fail me, I regained clarity of mind and spirit by the 5thd ay.  I have my life back.  Each and every step of the way.

Special thanks to my nurses, Julie and Jennifer- they are amazing!  I simply cannot thank you and your staff enough for giving me my life back.  I pray that others in my condition will find you.

I just wanted to thank you for all of your help and support with my son. He is doing incredibly well (although he opted for jail time) but he is off the street and clean.  He has gained 30lbs. and looks fantastic. Your program gave him the ability to get through the withdrawals and allowed him a sober outlook- for the first time in 7 years.  Thank you for bringing him back!

I went through the accellerated detox program in October 2004, and have remained off of narcotics ever since. After being addicted to hydrocodone/oxycodone for at least three years, and trying to quit on my own over 10 times with no success; I thought I had run out of options. Thank you for giving me back my life.

First I would like to thank Jenny if it had not been for her I would have never know about the Coleman Institute.  Which I would also like to thank everyone involved in my treatment and care you gave my life back.  I have only had my implant about two weeks.  I feel like someone who was asleep for several years and has just been awoken from this horrible nightmare, my addiction.  My life is so wonderful now an for the first time in years I wake up happy and I go to bed happy. I have just realized that for the first time in I don't know how many years I'm finally happy.  I think I had forgottten what been truly happy was like.  I'm more optomistic I look forward to each new day with please instead of dreading getting out of the bed.  The best part is I now have my family back and I look forward to my new life without the use of drugs and othe means of coping with life.  I want to be alive again.  My kids and other friends and family memebers are just amazed at the change in me in just a short amount of time after this procedure.  I wish all addicts had the opportunitiy to experience this amazing treatment.  This treatment program needs more exposure and I have told anyone that will listen about how great I feel because of the Coleman Institute. I wish all addicts could experience this treatment an just maybe
our war on drugs could be resolved.

11/05
Thank you for one year of no pills.  My son is doing great and is now enrolled in a golf academy.  Thank you Dr. Coleman and staff for giving my son back!

I'm getting close to being 90 days clean.  I went to Richmond, Va to detox and have the implant put in.  I have had a second implant put in since then. It's the best thing I ever done in my life. My only regret is that I never done it sooner.  I would like to thank all the staff at Richmond and Mt. Sterling for making me feel so comfortable, it so makes the process easier. There is no thank you big enough to ever begin to start to tell you how much it means to have my life back.  The best thing I think I can do now is to spread the word.  Not alot of people know about this treatment so I have been tring to educate anyone who will listen.  Doctors, adicts and anyone who I think can help addicts with the expence of the treatment.  All I know is I was a addict who was about at the end of the line I was a oxy I V user for 3 years and one addict is as bad as another if your an addict but one thing I can say I might always be and addict but now I am a recovering addict.  Now that I have seen what it is like to have a normal life I'll never go back.  Because it had been so long since I had a normal life I had forgot what it could be like and I like it. Thanks Coleman Institute.

On 5/15/00 I had a severe crush injury to my right foot causing me to have 3 amputations ending with a below the knee amputation. For 5 years I have been on massive doses of pain medications. I gradually worked my way up to taking 3-80mg’s Oxycontin a day and 160mg of liquid Oxycontin for break though pain.

The Coleman Institute was the best thing I could have done for my detox. Going through the normal reduction process would have taken over a year (that was not an option). The normal detox programs were 30 days (again not an option). At The Coleman Institute, in the 3-day detox, they made it pain free as medically possible. The meds made the withdrawals tolerable and being able to relax is your hotel room at nights made it so much more comfortable. The day after the detox I felt refreshed and re-energized. I felt like a new person.

I could not thank the staff and most of all Dr. Coleman enough for all they had done for me. If I had one bit of advice for anyone addicted to any type of opiates it would be to get into this program. In my eyes this is the only option. Fist of all the time and money you save towards a 30-day in-patient program is astronomical. Also, grouping all the pain and suffering into a shorter time is easier on you mentally. So in conclusion this is the best way to detox hands down.

Before going to the Coleman Institute I was a slave to everything from Norco to diluadid.  I went to a Methadone clinic because they said they could Detox me.  That is a lie and don't fall for it.  I ended up a methadone addict and couldn't even leave town overnight because I had to show up at the clinic everyday.  While on Methadone I started doing crazy things like sleepwalking.  One night I dismantled my stove and woke up when I had it all apart.  My hands and feet went numb and were swollen. I ate constantly for some reason and ended up gaining 30 lbs.  Going to the Coleman Institute set me free.  I am clean and it feels awesome!!!  As a Christian, I firmly believe that God saw to it that I went there.  He certainly didn't intend for me to be a slave to what I call "devil drugs prescribed by evil greedy people"  Doctors were killing me and they knew it.  Internet doctors are even worse!!!  Thank God for Dr. Finklestein and Rod.  These two professionals restored my faith in those who practice medicine.  Dr. Finklestein is a professional in every sense of the word.  He and Rod care about addicts more than ANYONE I have ever met.  I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to break the bondage of addiction.

Just wanted to thank all of you at Coleman and let you know that although last week was perhaps the hardest week of my life going through detox, I was very impressed with the service and expertise you deliver...I have my life back!  This week has been no cake-walk especially since I am right back at work and travelling by air almost daily, but  each day is getting better.  The naltrexone implant works and to anyone who like me, who is/was literally controlled by painkiller addiction, please consider this most humane of options to get control of yourself again. Thanks Dr. Coleman.

I just want to thank everyone there.  I pray to God that this will save my son's life.  I really appreciate all that was done on Friday.  God bless each and everyone of you.

Thanks so much for everything. You all are top notch and no words can be written to ever express what your knowledge and compassion did in handing me the second chancce at life...

06/05

So far everthing is wonderful. Both my son and girlfriend are drug free. He started working within a week after he returned from your office and has worked everyday since. My husband and I talked to them each day and it is wonderful to have them back as a "clean family".

06/05, Mother of RV
We thank you for your staff and, if and when, we need you we will call you. Thank you for everthing and to me, this is truly a success story for our family. I pract it will continue but I know with everday problems there will always be those thoughts. I truly believe no one can help an addict but himself and he really wanted your help, After talking to Michelle the first day he said, Mom this is what I want. It was the toughest week in his life but is a very strong person.

12/04
I just want to thank Dr. Coleman and his staff for all the help and support they have given me. The Naltrexone Implant is the best decision I have ever make in my life. I have been clean now for almost 4 months and everyday it gets easier. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone I know that needs help!  Thanks again Dr. Coleman and staff.

5/03, PK
Thanks for giving me another chance at a normal life. You, Dr C., Char, and the two nurses I had ( I am so sorry I cannot remember their names) , plus the rest of your staff are truly all angels sent from heaven above and seem so dedicated to help such impaired individuals as myself. I truly am so thankful. Please pass my thanks along to everyone at the institute for me. By the grace of God, support from my
loving wife and my many, many other family members and friends I will beat my
disease, you can bet on that. I am a little tired, to be expected for a month or so, but other than that I feel like a new, free, person. At least I do not have to get up and go to a real job everyday anymore! I believe that will really help me, along with aftercare I am lining up locally. I will always be here to help, inform, etc. anyone who is unsure of your program. Feel free to anytime recreate and print any of my writings as well as have anyone call me if necessary for questions or just plain old moral support. I sure have alot of it. Thanks again to all.

10/03
I underwent the Accelerated Detox with Dr. Finkelstein on 10/21/03. Dr. Finkelstein and Rod have been a blessing to me and my family. I cannot praise them enough for their help in giving me back my life.

01/03
...even though it has only been a couple of days, I saw a major change today. We would both like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I thank you because I have my daughter back and she thanks you because she has her life back.

01/03
Dr. Torres and Dr. Coleman are the two greatest doctors in the world. I want to thank you and clinic staff for all that you did for Andrew last November.

01/03, JD
Yes, I think that the two years on Naltrexone Therapy is the best thing in the world. I have now what I did not before...the rest of my life! It's short but I have goals that I am carrying out right now as we speak.

10/02
My experience at your facility was fine (what I can remember). Fentanyl is not a fun drug to quit. After withdrawal Wed/Thursday I felt somewhat OK until Sat/Sun. Then nausea, vomiting, etc. started all over only worse.

All of your employees are very calm, attentive, and professional. My only complaint is that eight hours on an exam table is hell. A hospital gurney would be much more comfortable.

My joints and muscles are still stiff and aching. I still feel like crap. I want to jump out of my skin but at the same time I am so fatiqued I can't do too much.

Valium is the only glue holding me together right now. All in all it wasn't fun (and still isn't) but it could have been much much worse.

My name is Joe S and I have been a chronic pain patient for seven years. Eventually, I was moved through every painkiller from Oxycontin, Dilaudid, & eventually to Methadone, to the point where I was taking 360mg a day. The cure became the problem and I was addicted and not able to function at work or in personal relationships. No other detox or rehab would touch me because of the huge dose of Methadone I was on, until I found Dr. Coleman. I had gone through withdrawal before, and so have most of you, and I dreaded the through of coming off. I found Dr. Coleman to be very understanding and compassionate. The actual detox was not comfortable, but it was actually very mild with few side effects. I was also fortunate enough to have a good support person. The staff at Dr. Coleman's was also great and understanding. No matter what you are addicted to, heroin, methadone, various painkillers, Dr. Coleman can help you and he will treat you as a human being and not an addict. I thank Dr. Coleman for treating me like a person and giving me a chance to get my life back.

3/02
Hi my name is Luke. I had been using Heroin for a little over 9 months. When I decided it was time to stop. I had been to rehab and that worked for about two days. Than I was right back to using. Then I heard about Dr. Coleman's program and decided it was worth a shot. So I went for the five-day detox. Dr. Coleman's program was a godsend. Nothing could have done a better job. I experienced no withdrawal symptoms and felt right at home with doctors and staff. I just can't put into words how happy I am now and how good I feel about myself. It's like I'm living in a whole new world with a whole new life. A better life.

8/01
On Aug.18th 2001, I will have one year clean time. Although, all I have is today, tomorrow is not promised. But, today I know that I don't have to use ever again. I never believed that possible before, oh yes, treatment center after treatment center told me, but it wasn't until I came to you that I was given relief from the obsession long enough to hear it. I want to thank you with all my heart for helping me to get my life back, because of what you do, because of the Ultra Rapid Detox procedure that you provide, and for the implant. I didn't have any cravings and didn't have to feel the humiliation, and hunger that came with the heroin withdrawal that I en dured time and time again. You let me know that I was a person, with a disease and not a disease myself, and that I deserved to be treated like one. The day I left your office after my post-procedure check up, I started my life, for the first time since I've been 13. A.L.

12/99
Once again, I am writing to give you an update on the condition of my son who underwent the URD in 3/99. I am thrilled and extremely happy to write and tell you that my son has done exceptionally well. It will be two years since he was in the hospital, he followed all of your instructions and continued on the Naltrexone for a very long time. At some, that I was not aware of, he just stopped taking it, felt he was ready. And he is doing well.

We both want to once again, thank you for the excellent work you are doing and for the quiet and caring way in which you help people. You are certainly one who definitely makes a difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my son. Keep up the good work.

5/01
I want to express our appreciation to you and your staff- especially Michelle for all your consideration during our stay in Richmond. Your presence to our needs and us all was a major factor in our “survival” of a stressful time for us all. And enables us to do our individual parts as well as we did. I suspect you have been told many times that you have a very special gift as a physician. Your candor, your patience, your listening and responsiveness, your honesty, and humility in sharing yourself, and particularly your investment in our hopefulness-were all ingredients in the outcome for us all.

We are grateful for your skill & experience, and dedication to a population of men and women so often not understood and incompletely treated. Our son has been doing so much and so well, given the lingering symptoms of fatigue and insomnia and diarrhea. It's a testimony, I think to his psychological well being of detoxification and gratitude for seeing his life hopefully. That's quite a gift!

Words seem inadequate to thank you enough. Please know you have one more family at large in the universe to which you have given a great gift- and who will never forget it was you who gave it.

5/02
In May of 2000 I got my life back. For the past three years I have been struggling with a demon. Heroin grabbed hold of me the first time I tried it and I could not escape. I would do anything to feel the rush, to the point where I almost lost both arms to infection.

I live in Fredericksburg, Va., a fairly small town full of middle class families that commute to DC. Nobody wants to admit that heroin is a major problem among white middle class kids. It was very difficult to get treatment. I went to several rehabs where I was locked in a room for a week to "sweat it out". I thank God everyday that I have a family that would never give up on me, even when I was ready to. I relapsed countless times. I was sinking deeper and deeper into my addiction. My debt was piling up, I almost failed out of college, and most importantly I was making the people that love me miserable. I hated every minute of it. I just kept

Next week finally came when a therapist gave me Dr. Coleman's number. I was very nervous about the idea of Ultra-Rapid detoxification. It is a very new type of treatment so there isn't a lot of information around about it. I figured that I was knocking on deaths door everytime I got high so the detoxification performed by medical professionals couldn't be too bad. I had been on the oral naltrexone pills before but could never stay on them, even when somebody else was giving them to me I would switch the pills to avoid taking them.

In May I had the Ultra-rapid detox procedure. I will admit that when I woke up after the procedure I felt like I had been hit by a large truck. It was no picnic for me. I believe this is because the night before the procedure I did a lot of heroin. This was something that I had been advised not to do. Unfortunately I did not follow Dr. Coleman's advice. I went home from the hospital the day after my procedure with the pellet sewn in my hip. I was miserable for about two days (it beats being sick for a week!). Mostly my stomach was upset and I felt a little depressed. The anesthesia can cause the stomach problems. The depression was from the lack of opiate hitting my brain. All of this faded within 5-6 days.

I will never forget the first day that I left the house after the detox. The world looked totally different. Everything was clear and bright. it sounds a little silly but I had been living on the dark cloud af addiction for so long I had lost track of all of the beautiful things around me. I'm not saying that everything was rainbows and kittens, because I had destroyed a lot of things during my addiction. I had relationships to mend not to mention my credit record! None of this stuff seems important anymore. I know that it took me 3 years to mess everything up, so it will take me at least that long to fix it. The important thing is that I am alive to write this testimonial.

I have been to many doctors that specialize in addictive behavior. I think I've heard just about everything. The thing that I heard from Dr. Coleman that was different was that he had been in my shoes. To me that makes all the difference in the world. The people that locked me in a room to detox for a week, did not understand. As a result I replapsed within a week. There is so much more to treating an addiction than just getting clean. Staying clean is the toughest thing I will ever deal with in my life. I believe that Dr. Coleman and his associates have found the key to lasting recovery, not just because of the Naltrexone pellet but also because of their excellent follow-up. Many of the doctors I have been to have helped me get clean and then just sent me back out into the world. I wonder if they think about whatever happened to me. Probably not....

Although my recovery is my challenge and responsibility I owe a lot to Dr. Coleman and his associates. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to have the Ultra-Rapid detox. There are millions of addicts who will never have the chance. We should all say a prayer for them. T.M. Fredericksburg, VA

I remember standing in line one morning at the Methadone Clinic, waiting to be handed a number just to stand in another line to be medicated. This was a daily procedure and I thought of the hopeless situation I was in. I had traded a heroin addiction for a Methadone addiction. I had tried previously to detox from Methadone with help from the clinic, but to no avail. The following months of nausea, body aches, and lack of energy, always brought me back to Heroin and Methadone addiction.

Then one day, I saw a billboard offering Ultra-Rapid Detoxification from Heroin and Methadone. I wrote the number down and went to my office and called. To my pleasant surprise, a very cheerful and concerned person answered that call and is it turned out that call was actually the beginning of my road to recovery.

It has been six months now since I had the procedure and my life has been returned to me. I no longer have that daily nagging fear that I will slip and fall from sobriety. This would not have been possible without Ultra-Rapid Detoxification and the Naltrexone therapy follow-up. When an addict knows he cannot get "high" because of the Naltrexone he takes as a preventive measure, then he can focus his energy on recovery rather than the daily painful decision to get "high" or not to get "high". Slowly life returns and that cloud of addiction is lifted. You gradually begin to enjoy life again.

I don't want all of what I have said to imply that this was a "walk in the park". It has been a difficult road and it continues to be a long road. However, it would have been impossible without the encouragement of Dr. Coleman and his staff. There was sincere concern on their part which gave me the encouragement I needed to begin my recovery. From Dr. Coleman and his staff, to the staff of Retreat Hospital where the procedure was performed, everyone was polite, courteous, and very professional. Their continued support and my desire to recover fully is my hope for the future. R.M.

In 1971, I started using intravenous drugs and through that period of time, I have been in jails and institutions for fifteen years. I was a heavy duty drug user. I could never get enough. One week prior to meeting Dr. Coleman I had felt there was no way out and I had thought of suicidal tendencies. Also I had been on Methadone six times. Honestly, I was scared to death to go through the Ultra-Rapid Detox but now that I have done it, it is the best money I have ever spent. I finally feel like myself again.

Dr. Coleman and his staff maintain contact with you and put you on a narcotic blocker. I highly recommend Dr. Coleman and his staff if you are sincere about getting your life back and be totally drug free. Also, the narcotic blocker really and truly takes all psychic desires away. Once again, it is the best money I ever spent. G.L.

I wish to convey my sincerest thanks for the kind and considerate way you and your staff treated me during my detoxification. For the first time in tend years, I am opiate free and beginning to recover my life. I thought you might be interested in what I think I felt and saw in my mind's eye while undergoing the procedure.

I have studied predictive dreaming, and have been able to dream certain dreams at will. I believe this may have helped me to remember what happened while the Narcon was injected and was "washing" my receptors free of opiates. I went into the procedure hoping to be able to recall it later.

I felt like I was an observer floating in a black void. My vision was of seeing multi-colored "ferris wheels" stacked side-by-side, complex geometric shapes, vivid colors against a black void. The "structure" of these wheels was like looking at the ferris wheels, sans seats and supporting structure, changing colors and seeing the "bars" washed away and replaced by different-colored ones, and the structure changed somewhat- very vivid colors, very complex geometric shapes quite literally washed away and then replaced.

While in effect you have changed my life, it was not without cost. The detox after-effects are painful and my nerves still feel fried after two weeks. My wife says my personality has changed somewhat, but I guess after living in a fog for years, that is to be expected; as you said, the effects abate quickly, and I feel better day by day.

My personal thanks to you, your nurse, and special thanks to your anesthetist; you were all very caring and compassionate. I especially appreciate your keeping the cost of treatment within the reach of the working class; please strive to continue to do so.

You know where I've been- thank you for bringing me back. R.C.

...he has done extremely well and continues to faithfully take his medication three times a week as prescribed. He has not faltered once in all of these months. He seems stronger, energetic and determined to make this work and get on with his life. We feel that by having the procedure done in the hospital rather than an office, really made a major difference and got him off to an excellent start. You, as an understanding, caring physician, a doctor easy to talk to, one who took the time to communicate with, not only your patient but also the family in an easy relaxed manner made a tremendous impact on both my son and I. We appreciate all that you did for us and the time you spent with us. You are truly an asset to your profession Dr. Coleman ! K.N.

My parents and I would like to thank you and your staff for the wonderful treatment you gave to me during the detox. We would like to thank you for the insights provided to me. It made me better understand Jeff's situation and what the treatment was all about. I personally appreciate your kindness and patience with me and my questions. I am doing well.
